Nameswell specialises in surnames which originated within the British Isles, and information available on surnames with obvious foreign origins may be limited.

Distribution maps are available for most first names and surnames which were in use in Great Britain in 1881. If not available, an alternative will be supplied if possible.

In responding to your query Nameswell will consult a wide range of sources and draw on specialist knowledge to provide as full an analysis as possible.

However, due to the lack of documentation from the period in which all names developed, a definitive answer cannot always be determined, and all information is subject to availability.

No information on individual lineages can be supplied.

Payment is requested with each order. Confirmation of order will be sent on receipt of order.

Money Back Guarantee : If Nameswell is unable to provide any information on your surname, suggest any theories of origin, or provide ideas on how to proceed further in tracing the origin of your name, a full refund will be given.

Fees are exclusive of postage and packaging.

As research is carried out to customer specifications, the placing of an order forms a legally binding contract between the customer and Nameswell, which cannot be cancelled.

Reports will be dispatched within 30 days of receipt of order. If, for any reason, Nameswell is unable to supply a report within this time you will be informed, with the option of a full refund or a new deadline to be agreed between Nameswell and the customer.
